FAQ
Some of the more frequently asked questions are listed here. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, please feel free to contact us.Can I get a quick estimate?
There many variables which depict the final price of shutters. Initially, the quickest way to get a ball park cost is by providing approximate dimensions of your windows (any photos would be helpful too). If you are unable to do this, please contact us to arrange a site visit.
How much is delivery?
We do not charge any extra for delivery.
Can I see samples?
Yes, we bring sample and swatches when we survey your property.
How long do shutters take?
There are two production times depending on the style of shutter:
Standard (square) – 8-10 weeks from the date of order confirmation/receipt of deposit.
Non standard (shaped or custom colour) – 10-12 weeks from the date of order confirmation/receipt of deposit.
Can the production time be speeded up?
Yes. At an additional cost (calculated by cubic metre of your order), your shutters can be airfreighted, reducing the overall time to 3-4 weeks.
Can I repaint or revarnish shutters?
No. Our shutters come flawlessly sprayed with 6 coats of paint or stain, including a UV protection coat to prevent fading. Due to the precision they are made, repainting or revarnishing them would simply prevent the louvres from smooth operation. You will be provided with touch up paint for minor chips.
What if I break a louvre?
Louvres are replaceable, should you be unfortunate enough to break any. Please contact us for a price.
My windows aren’t 100% square, will shutters look OK?
Most windows aren’t! Depending on ‘how’ imperfect the windows are, once fitted correctly, you’ll never notice the imperfect windows. Frame choice can make all the difference, so we will advise accordingly during the survey.
Do shutters act as total blackout?
Not entirely. Our shutters do provide excellent light closure but they also allow a small amount of light to seep through or reflect off of the closed louvres and gaps between panels and frame. However, shutters can be manufactured with integrated blackout blinds. Find out more about blackout blinds in Options & extras.
What are your payment terms?
A non refundable 50% deposit is required to place your order. The balance is due only when you are satisfied with your finished installation.
Do you remove all packing materials?
Yes. We remove and recycle all packaging material from your order.
Do I have to be home when you’re fitting?
Not necessarily, we understand you may have work or other commitments and can fit your shutters without you being present. Naturally, you need to be there to approve the finished job and settle the balance payment.
